I have eagerly awaited to try this mascara and could not be more pleased!!! (Yes, it really justifies three marks of exclamation.) As you can see below, I was not blessed with long, luxurious lashes. Before I began my quest for toxin-free products, I searched high and low to find a mascara that actually did what it promised: super-sized my lashes! I tried them all, but at best mascara made little difference, or at worst made my short lashes look like tragic clumps.
Bare lashes: average, short and rather straight. My forlorn expression says it all.
Finally! A higher-minded quest for a toxin-free mascara lead me to a product that not only relieves my eyes of enduring chemical stress, but actually plumps, lengthens and makes my lashes look absolutely fabulous! See the incredible results below. (Make note that I did curl my lashes, but this same process with other mascaras did not yield these results.)
100% Pure lashes: Wow! Look at the that length on my outer lashes! Inner-temptress set free.
To make things even sweeter, 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara smells like berries and stays on without smudging or flaking. But that’s not all, it comes off so easily that just water and the very tiniest bit of soap clears it away, again without irritating my eyes.
Why not just use Cover Girl? (Or any other mainstream or designer brand.) Because they’re chockfull of toxins that would make you cry if you knew how damaging they are to your health. In fact, they do make you cry when toxic particles migrate onto and irritate your precious eyes. Did you know that some mascara contains mercury? Yup. It’s criminal the ingredients that the make-up industry gets away with using in their products.

Translation: You probably don’t need one for the ingredients in 100% Pure, as for Cover Girl, just about every ingredient is synthetic and toxic. It would require pages to go over the details of each chemical. In short, all the propyls, polys and parabens are known cancer causing agents that cause organ system toxicity, ecotoxicology, developmental/reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, allergies/immunotoxicity and bioaccumulation (they don’t leave your body). Two ingredients worth noting are Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Triethanolamine. SLS not only disrupts your hormones and has been linked to heart-beat irregularity, but is also a known carcinogen. While Triethanolamine is a documented immune system toxicant, classified as expected to be toxic and harmful upon contact.
It is completely legal for Cover Girl to sell you these ingredients and encourage you to apply them to one of the most sensitive parts of your body, and one of few gateways directly into your anatomy: eyes, nose and mouth. Imagine this: all those chemicals enter your body through your porous eyes, directly into your blood stream, setting off your immune system and circulating through your brain in seconds, then all your other organs to follow. Not a pretty picture.
I chose this Cover Girl mascara completely at random. Expect equally toxic and worse ingredients in any mainstream mascara – even some of the companies masquerading as ‘natural’. Beware! Read labels!
