Dream Body Green Goddess Smoothie

Are you tired of feeling tired, depressed, sluggish or run down? Well here’s an easy way to give yourself some sizzling energy, health, and spring clean your brain fog!

smoothieI try to have this delicious and nutritious alkaline smoothie three times a week for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack. It’s incredible how amazing my body feels after. Unlike juices, which are not filling enough to replace a meal, and can slow down your metabolism if you’re ‘cleansing’ (causing your body to think it’s starving, and thus inadvertently hold on to bad weight), this green smoothie has the whole food nutrition and fiber you need to gently cleanse your system and add powerful alkalinizing greens into your diet. It’s yummy, refreshing, and packed with antioxidants, chlorophyll, and minerals.

 

Without going into alkaline specifics here, let me just simplify by saying that most of the bad food we consume (meat, processed foods, junk food, alcohol, fake sweeteners, sugar etc) is highly acidic and harmful to our body, ages it, creates inflammation, and conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis etc. Of course stress, anxiety, and negative energy create acid in our body as well. In theory, if we could keep our body in an alkaline state, we could live forever ๐Ÿ˜‰

 

A couple glasses are surprisingly filling. This makes enough for two, so you can make it once, and keep the latter serving in the fridge. Eat slowly with a spoon from a glass to savor this yummy and filling treat- it’s fabulous!

 

ingredients:

3 small organic cucumbers (the thin, small Persian ones are the least bitter)

1 cup of organic lettuce (red leaf is my fave)

1 avocado

juice of 1 lime

1 organic apple

mint leaves to taste

pinch of salt

1 cup of steamed organic kale (add more to taste)

how to steam kale:

rinse one bunch of kale
remove leaves from thick main stem
boil water, put kale in steamer
steam for 5 mins
rinse in cold water
use 1 cup for smoothie, keep rest for kale salad

 

When it’s warm out, I add ice to make it a super refreshing treat.

Combine in food processor or blender, blend on high, and serve right away.

Did I mention this makes your breath super kissable because of the fresh mint? It helps that you will feel like a sexy Green Goddess as well.
