Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Serum Review

Since I used to live in Germany, I’ve been familiar with and have tried Dr. Hauschka beauty products over many years, but I usually stuck to my simple beauty routine.Dr Recently I’ve been wanting to try out some of their ‘special’ treatment products to see what the fuss is all about. I heard this Regenerating Serum is a Martha Stewart Must-Have product (is this the secret to Martha’s skin? I assumed it was nips, tucks, and injections!).

Dr. Hauschka kindly sent me this anti-aging serum that ‘firms and revitalizes mature skin’, and though I’m only 32, and most people think I look a decade younger (“so where do you study? um, thanks but i’m not a student anymore”), I did use to smoke- a lot- and I figure taking care of my skin with premium organic products is the best prevention against premature aging and skin damage. I am determined to age gracefully when I get older and not succumb to pressure to use Botox and other such toxic fake crap. I actually think I will love having wrinkles, but honestly, for now I’d like to keep them away for another couple of decades- until I’m middle aged.

So this is what the package says:

Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Serum hydrates mature skin, leaving it feeling supple and revitalized. This blend of select healing botanicals:

  • smoothes wrinkles and fine lines
  • supports and strengthens the skin’s natural functions
  • helps skin regulate moisture balance
  • refines the appearance of the skin
  • soothes red, irritated and sensitive skin

Sounds pretty good right? In practice, this product definitely delivered on some of these points for me. My skin did appear more refined and toned, and it did calm redness that I have from rosacea. Basically, I’d like a bucket of this serum- it feels like my skin soaks up every bit of the biodynamic plant essences and antioxidant action. Living in NY, I feel like I need all the help I can get to counteract pollution and free radical damage. It feels like a toning gel on your skin, and absorbs instantly. There is an astringent quality, as it’s a serum, so you’ll want to follow up with oil or lotion to moisturize. The bottle of course recommends following with Dr. Hauschka’s Regenerating Day Cream for best results, which I don’t have. I used the serum after cleansing and toning, in the AM and PM.

mini cons: there is a slight whiff of alcohol, which I know is to preserve the herbal extracts, but I wish it wasn’t there. I’m not used to multi step skincare, ie I have to apply moisturizer after, as it has an astringent quality. And the pricetag is hefty for a small bottle, but it seems to last for a couple months, so if you have the money, go for it.

overall rating: 4 out of 5

  1. Nice review! thank you! ^^
i love regenerating serum too. i skip the toner and regenerating day cream coz these 2 aggravates my rosacea and i look better with only using this serum day (and/or) night after washing my face with dr hauschka cleansing cream. this is the best serum i have ever tried! i have rosacea, atopic eczema, hormonal acne and asphyxiated skin.
