Isla Fisher (Bachelorette) is a body image inspiration. In the May 2013 issue of Fitness, the actress shares some great words of wisdom:
“For me, so much about life is acceptance. You can look in the mirror and find a million things wrong with yourself,” Fisher, 37, says. “Or, you can look in the mirror and think, ‘I feel good, I have my health, and I’m so blessed.’ That’s the way I choose to look at it. I don’t need to be perfect.”
The mother of two also had this to say:
“I don’t even own a scale,” she shares. “I have two young daughters and I wouldn’t want them to see me weighing myself all the time. I don’t think it sends the right message.”
While Fisher does acknowledge that she feels pressure from movie studios to look a certain way, it’s clear that it doesn’t bother her that much. It’s refreshing to see more actresses to take a stand and say that they’re not going to let diets dictate their lives, especially stars who are mothers. As we’ve discussed before, mama celebrities can’t seem to win–they’re still held to rigid body image standards when pregnant, and it’s a scandal when they’re not bikini ready immediately after giving birth. We think you’re awesome, Isla!
