I love Juice Beauty’s tinted SPF moisturizer, so I was excited to try their high end premium age defy line, in particular their fancy and tech sounding Stem Cellular Repair products . I reviewed the Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer. The eye treatment is a companion product and also supposedly ‘decreases DNA damage’ and ‘improves cellular turnover’.
This is what the package and website says:
A proprietary blend of fruit stem cells and a high concentration of fat-soluble Vitamin C works at the cellular level to repair DNA damage and encourage new cell growth to aggressively firm and eliminate dark circles and fine lines around the eyes. Antioxidant-rich fruit juices, fat-soluble Vitamin C and plant oils hydrate and improve elasticity for lasting, advanced age defy results. Age Less.
Juice Beauty’s age defy line uses fruit stem cells to radically reduce and prevent wrinkles and heal your skin. Clinical results show an 88% reduction in appearance of lines and wrinkles, improved skin tone & luminosity, a 75% improved elasticity of the skin, and up to 87% free radical scavenging.
I look at beauty products as a way of pampering, loving my body, and taking care of myself, rather than anti-aging. That rhetoric just reinforces insecurity and negative body and beauty image. I was definitely skeptical as I am about all beauty brand claims, but I am a beauty product junkie and am always searching for the best way to protect my skin from pollution and sun damage.
I used the Stem Cellular Repair Eye Treatment in conjunction with the face moisturizer after cleaning and toning my skin in the mornings. It also applies like a matte cream, and feels and smells very fresh and fruity. And indeed it feels like I’m slathering my skin with free radical fighting superpowers. I’ve been using the eye treatment for several weeks, and the skin around my eyes appears smoother, and more toned. I don’t really have many wrinkles yet, but it does seem that the few small lines I have are more smoothed out and less noticeable. If you’re looking for a treatment that firms and tones your eye skin, this is definitely it. I don’t have under eye bags or loose skin around my eyes, so I didn’t like the firming effect.
My eye skin feels a bit too toned and tight after application, but I guess it is called eye ‘treatment’ rather than ‘moisturizer’. I’m pretty minimalist when it comes to skin care, but if you want an eye ‘treatment’ and serum, in addition to eye cream, this would be great. For me that seems a bit much, I’d rather just buy the serum or moisturizer and apply that all over my face rather than have a separate eye product. And because my skin is so thin and so delicate, I prefer a more moisturizing and hydrating eye cream.
I also don’t like the fancy applicator- I use my finger to apply the serum, as I find the plastic thing uncomfortable and weird on my delicate eye skin, and it doesn’t allow me to pat it in properly.
