Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer Review

I love Juice Beauty’s SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer, so I was excited to try their high end premium age defy line, in particular their fancy and tech sounding Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer, which supposedly ‘decreases DNA damage’ and ‘improves cellular proliferation’.

StemCellularRepairMoisturizerThis is what the package and website says:

A proprietary blend of fruit stem cells deeply penetrates the skin to repair DNA damage and encourage new cell growth to aggressively firm and elminate wrinkles. Antioxidant-rich fruit juices, fat-soluble Vitamin C and plant oils hydrate and improve elasticity for lasting, advanced age defy results. Age Less.

Juice Beauty’s age defy line uses fruit stem cells to radically reduce and prevent wrinkles and heal your skin. Clinical results show an 88% reduction in appearance of lines and wrinkles, improved skin tone & luminosity, a 75% improved elasticity of the skin, and up to 87% free radical scavenging.

I look at beauty products as a way of pampering, loving my body, and taking care of myself, rather than anti-aging. That rhetoric just reinforces insecurity and negative body and beauty image. I was definitely skeptical as I am about all beauty brand claims, but I am a beauty product junkie and am always searching for the best way to protect my skin from pollution and sun damage.

I have combo skin, and I use the Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer after cleaning and toning my skin in the mornings. It applies like a matte cream, and feels and smells very fresh and fruity. My skin looks shine-free, super smooth, and ready for makeup. I love the way the moisturizer comes out of the jar with an unusual pump, which means the product stays fresh. It feels like I’m slathering my skin with free radical fighting superpowers. There is even a slight astringent, tingling sensation. I’ve been using the moisturizer for several weeks, and my skin appears smoother, with a more even skintone, and more toned. I don’t really have any wrinkles yet, but it does seem that the few tiny lines I have are more smoothed out and less noticeable.

mini cons: this moisturizer might feel a bit too toning for those with dry skin, as it feels more like a serum after it’s applied, which is why I use it as a daytime moisturizer under my sunscreen. I wouldn’t recommend this as a hydrating moisturizer or night cream. It’s more a ‘treatment’ and serum cream.

overall rating: 5 out of 5
