my winter skincare must-have beauty products

my girlfriends always ask me what skincare products i’m using, so i’ve decided to share a seasonal snapshot of my current skincare esstenials. these are the products i have on my bathroom shelf and am using right now. because my skin gets drier in the winter from the cold and indoor heat, i switch things up seasonally, and i’m always trying new products and discovering new favorites.

IMG_4222these are all natural beauty products from sustainable companies made without toxic chemicals like artificial fragrance, parabens, phthalates, etc. i pick products for 2 factors besides the required naturalness: cost, and effectiveness.

i’m not going to spend a crazy amount of money on beauty products. and they have to really be amazing. not just ok. but actually perform and be effective. right now i’m loving my routine, though i’m looking to try a new serum and face oil. right now i use the organic baby oil on my body and face after showering. and on the baby obviously. it’s a multitasker ๐Ÿ™‚

i don’t like having a gazillion products that i don’t use. i’m a minimalist but i take care of my skin, so i’m very particular about the products i use and recommend.

morning routine

1. Aveda tourmaline charged exfoliating cleanser

i recently discovered this creamy exfoliating cleanser. i have been a diehard Jurlique foaming cleanser girl for years, and finally wanted to try something different, especially for winter to keep skin exfoliated so it doesn’t look dry.

this does the trick very well, the scrub is not harsh, yet it removes dead skin cells and makes your skin super smooth. and it’s lasting me for a long time as well, so cost effective.

i do miss the essential oil aromatherapy of the Jurlique cleanser, not that this smells bad, it’s just more subtle.

2. ASAP Silver Gel

I use this when I have any imperfections/redness/blemishes/broken capillaries/wounds.

It’s a crazy miracle product. Read my review here.

3. Juice Beauty SPF 30 Tinted Mineral Moisturizer

This is fantastic in the winter for the glow, when my skin is dry and extra pale.

Plus it’s SPF 30, and I wear sunscreen rain or shine. Read my review here. Depending on how dry and pale my skin is, I mix it with no.4.

 4. Aveda tourmaline charged hydrating creme

This is my newest secret weapon beauty discovery. I cannot even believe how this cream makes my face glow.

Honestly, I didn’t even know Aveda made skincare. I just thought of Aveda for hair products. Then some great reviews made me curious and I splurged.

I don’t lather it on, I mix it with the tinted sunscreen. On it’s own I get an amazing glow. With the tinted sunscreen, I get an amazing glow, don’t look like a pale ghost, and have my skin protected from UVA/UVB rays.

nighttime routine

5. blum naturals daily eye makeup remover

this is  a fantastic inexpensive, multiple use product- toner, cleanser, makeup remover. my search for the perfect delicious smelling, non-irritating, gentle yet effective eye makeup remover is over. i think i’ve tried over a dozen brands.

i use this on my whole face at night, to cleanse, and as a toner. it removes makeup, dirt, and is so refreshing.

6. 100% Pure coffee bean caffeine eye cream

this is the most effective and most inexpensive quality eye cream i’ve found. the texture is perfect, not too thick that you have to rub it in, not too thin that it doesn’t stay on.

it’s so smooth, it smells divine, and it really moisturizes your eye area. it also reduces wrinkles, puffiness, and dark eye circles. my eyes are not puffy, so i can’t speak to that, but it does seem to help with my dark under eye circles, and fine lines.

i’m a big fan of Weleda products in general, and this is my favorite night time moisturizer especially for the wintertime.

it’s thicker than some of the other ones like the Rose, which is what i need in the winter time, and it smells divine. it’s super moisturizing, and soothing. i wish it came in a bigger size!

next up is my no fuss makeup & shower routine using all natural, cost effective and quality products.
